Trekking June 2009 :: Siddhagad
Months and months gone by!
Killing summers round the corner fading away..
showing the signs of a rainy day,
clouds of desire arise again,
awaking the dead monsters from the suburban terrain.
Whenever we dream – we reach for it. The monsoon enlightens the shades of life, the colors of nature and the freshness of breath. A few close buddies decide on a destination to have an ice-breaker to this monsoon trekking saga.
Ma Lee (Mallikarjun) invites a few selected buddies for a sweet gathering and caressing the fresh green before the advent of the stormy nights ~ Destination: Siddhagad
Joining in for the trek were: Mallik, Swati, Sneha, Kudrat, Amol Rajoba, Ruturaj and myself

Siddhagad
Height: 2750 feet
Time: ~3 hrs from Narivali, Base Village
Location: Siddhagad is located between Bhimashankar and Gorakhgad. The best would be to reach to the top Bale Killa.
A brief:
3:30 a.m. – Wake up (hate gettin up and leavin the darling pillow)
4:44 a.m. – Train to Dadar from Kandivali [30/- return fare](missed the 4:36 a.m train)
5:59 a.m. – Boarded the train from Dadar to Kalyan (wasted 1/2 hr waiting for pple travelling from Tuslibai road oops 😛 TusliPipe road)
7:04 a.m. – Alighted at Kalyan station
7:15 a.m. – Took up a S.T Bus to Murbad (regular frequency – no issues commuting by ST Busses)
7:50 a.m. – Reached Murbad [20/- per head Bus fare from Kalyan to Murbad]
8:00 a.m. – S.T. Bus from Murbad to Narivali (bus frequency regular service at 30 minute intervals) [14/- per head]
8:30 a.m. – Began the ascend from Narivali village
11:44 a.m. – Reached the Siddhagad Fort gate
12:20 p.m. – At around 12 noon we were walking the plateau, reaching the Siddhagad Machi
12:50 p.m. – Reached the cave on the top(just below the bale killa)
1:00 p.m. – Lunch/Rest/Talks and on and on..
2:00 p.m. – Began descent
4:45 p.m. – Reached Narivali base village
5:10 p.m. – Boarded the bus to Murbad from Narivali [14/- per head]
6:00 p.m. – Snack time..
6:30 p.m. – Public transport Jeep from Murbad to Kalyan [20/- per head]
7:24 p.m. – Train from Kalyan to reach Dadar
8:45 p.m. – Train from Dadar to Kandivali
