Visit to Kanheri Caves, Borivali

Kanheri Caves

Its been last few days that I have been off my regular routine from accomplishing my homely and professional tasks and I am really taking a few breaks. Starting with the meetup of MoRonz AdvEntUrez at Candies, the Meetup Anniversary party, the Chanderigad night trek and the shotout of the flamingos (photoshoot :P) and to add to it a Jivdani trek and now this one…..

I got a call from Mallikarjun about his idea of cycling to Kanheri Caves. He and Betram generally go off their schedule for cycling trips. They had recently done a stint to Alibaug on their bicycles.

Apparently, just a few days prior to this I had asked Ruturaj for this event. So that we could go for some good time photographing around there.

Check the photogalleries listed below.

Trekking April 2008 :: Chanderigad

This was my first trek after a long hiatus since November… As usual MoRonz AdvEntUrez Group coffee meetup @ Candies was shaping up the future treks (list of go-to’s to be conducted for the coming months)… and there was one coming in the nearest future (the next week)… but the destination wasnt determined as yet.. Mallikarjun was arranging for this trek .. He finalised on Chanderigad and I soon agreed to join him.. but I was askin him to postpone the trek by a week more coz the week decided wasn’t a full moon night. And I had checked the moon phase calendar for 2008 I had a word with Mallik and he too agreed on the same and the night trek was finalized!

[on 19th April 2008]
This one being the Anniversary trek was a lot of excitement. There were almost 30 pple who had RSVP’d for this event.
and finally the night trek was an amazing one with 25 ppl

Trekking May 2008 :: Pilgrimage to Jivdani

All out of the blue – on an compulsary official off – May 1st – when all the working white collared colleagues of mine were resting home – a friend of mine was scheming a plan to visit Jivdani Temple at Virar. I have been there lots of times while I was a small kid.
We all planned the trip out of nowhere @2:00 p.m. Decided to meet at Virar @ 4:00 p.m. and head off to the Temple and return home in a few hours.

I knew that there were stairs to climb up to the temple. But as soon as we reached at the base of the pilgrimage site, we some how decided to go off road and make our own way to the top. Some how this ordinary climb was converted into a wonderful trek by us.

Check the pics that follow and you shall get an idea about how exciting we made this simple trip.
